My Background
I've always been interested in art but not until I retired did I have the opportunity to chase my dream. I've been painting for several years now and am a self taught artist. There is so much to learn, but it is a journey that I am enjoying.
My Medium
My preferred medium is acrylics but I have recently experimented with alcohol inks. I'm loving the unexpected shapes and colors that are created. Sometimes I have a plan but often I wait to see what the inks come up with and take it from there.

Landscapes, oceans, animals and flowers. Nature inspires me. My husband and I had the opportunity to travel in our motorhome the last two years. On our travels we saw most of the northwestern national parks. It left me with a greater appreciation for our country's beautiful landscapes. Recently I have moved out of the studio to do plein air painting (outdoor painting) . I think that photos even though they are useful they don't always give a true rendering of the colors, lights and shadows when you paint outdoors.
